Obituary for Rose Mary Chaplin
Rose Mary Chaplin
A funeral mass for Ms. Rose Mary Chaplin of Monroe, LA will be 4:00pm Sunday, October 7, 2018 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Father Job officiating. Interment will follow at St. Matthew Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00pm until 5:30pm Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Griffin Funeral Home 600 Hwy 139 Monroe, with the Rosary beginning at 5:30pm.
Ms. Chaplin was born September 12, 1921 in Campti, LA and passed from this life on October 4, 2018 in Monroe, LA at the age of 97. She was a founding member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monroe.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Ozellia Chaplin; and her siblings, Curtis Chaplin, Mitchell Chaplin, Ella Perot, Sadie Smith, Joe Chaplin, Matthew Chaplin, Clayton Chaplin and Willard Chaplin.
Survivors include her daughter/niece, Audrey Hawsey of Monroe; one brother, Otis Chaplin of Dallas, TX; three sisters, Lucille Holmes of Monroe, Julia Milton of Bastrop, and Dorothy Laws of Monroe; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Keith Hawsey, Tony Patrick, William Patrick, Bruce Easterling, Jordan Smith and Gene Perot.
