Charles Edward Cato
A celebration of a life well lived for Mr. Charles Edward Cato of West Monroe, LA will be 3:00pm Sunday, February 11, 2018 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe with Rev. J.P. Cannon officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00pm until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Cato was born February 14, 1941 in Port Arthur, TX and passed from this life on February 9, 2018 in Monroe, LA at the age of 76. He was a retired professor of accounting and instructed at Louisiana Tech University and Grambling University. He enjoyed spending time with his family and he loved riding horses with the “High Roller Riders”.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis W. Cato and Alma Gartman Cato.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Barbara O’Quinn Cato; two sons, Bobby W. Cato and wife, Carolyn and Larry A. Cato and wife, Cherie; three grandsons, Jake E. Cato and wife, Shay, Jason W. Cato and Bryce Allen Cato; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to a “no kill” animal shelter of the donors’ choice.
