Memorial services for Mr. William Lee Cannon of Columbia, LA will be 10:00am Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home 911 Warren Dr. West Monroe. Visitation will be from 9:00am until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans’ Cemetery in Rayville under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe.

Mr. Cannon was born July 2, 1947 in Natchitoches, LA and passed from this life on June 8, 2018 in Alexandria, LA at the age of 70. William was a Navy veteran during the Vietnam War. He earned several medals, including the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, as well as the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon. He grew up in Natchitoches, LA, the eldest son of Chester Lee and Mary Elizabeth Cannon. He had a lengthy career with the United States Postal Service and had a passion for bowling, fishing and LSU football. He meant so much to his family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, uncle, dad, granddad, great-granddad, a sailor and a friend to many. He will be terribly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester Lee and Mary Elizabeth Cannon; one brother, Howard Cannon; and one nephew, Daryl Cannon.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Cannon of Columbia; his children, Mary Dingler and husband, Eric of Eros, Ryan Collins and wife, Joellen of Choudrant, Lisa Deiter and husband, Johnny of Swartz, and Rance Collins and wife, Jana of Powell, OH; thirteen grandchildren, Lauren, Nicholas, Kristian, Wesley, Cameron, Madison, Ashley, Erica, Aden, Gabe, Ethan, Elliott and River; one great-grandchild, Zoey Belle; two nephews, Bryan Cannon of Hebert and Howard Cannon of St. Francisville; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
