Clarence Lee “Punkin” Avant
Funeral services for Mr. Clarence Lee “Punkin” Avant of Calhoun, LA will be 2:00pm Monday, January 29, 2018 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe with Donald Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until 2:00pm Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Avant was born August 3, 1940 in West Monroe, LA and passed from this life on January 26, 2018 in Calhoun, LA at the age of 77.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Gray Avant, Sr. and Margie Mae Whittington Avant; two brothers, William Huey Avant and Charles Gray Avant, Jr.; and four sisters, Betty Louise Avant, Evelyn Jane Nelson, Annie Elizabeth Fields and Mary Francis Avant.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Avant; three daughters, Patty Barmore and husband, Tommy, Sissy Skipper and husband, Phil and Karen Barker and husband, Jeff; six grandchildren, Chuckie Terry and wife, Kelly, Westley Terry and wife, Heather, Kayla Hale and husband, Chris, Phillip Skipper and wife, Katie-Belle, Ashleigh Barker, Nikki Gourdon and husband, Jeremy and Jessica Spillers and husband, Jeremy; also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren, three brothers, one sister, one brother-in-law, five sister-in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Phil Skipper, Jeff Barker, Alan Nelson, Chuckie Terry, Westley Terry and Phillip Skipper. Honorary pallbearers will be Colton Terry and Wyatt Terry.
