Obituary for William Eugene Knotts
William “Big Will” Eugene Knotts born in Jonesboro, LA on November 7, 1964, gained his wings in Monroe, LA on December 13, 2020, after losing the battle to a longtime illness.
Proceeded in death by his father, Orie Louis Knotts, mother, Christine Tyler Knotts, stepfather, Troy Driggers, brother, Rodney, brother, Carl Lee “Moose”, and sister Lisa Gayle.
Left to honor his memory, his soul mate-wife of 16 years, Sue, stepson Wayne wife Jennifer, stepdaughter, Moriah. His grandchildren: Codi, Lucas, Steven, Dennis, Alison, Audie, Oktober, Jaxon, Brantley, Zachary, and great-grandchildren: Codi Jr., Cason. His brother Randall, wife Fe, brother Maxie, wife Mickey, brother Larry, wife Connie, brother Miron, wife Glenda, brother Mark, brother Rickey, sister Wanda, husband Bruce, brother Tommy, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
William worked for Derrick Gentry, with TMF Lighting, for the last 20 years. He drove their 18 wheeler, did the lighting for concerts and events, and put the Christmas lights up for the Louisiana Tourist Bureau in West Monroe, LA.
Most all of William’s family and friends knew him as “Big Will”. He never met a stranger. He was always a lot of fun and loved to play jokes on everyone. Growing up, he loved tinkering with everything, especially cars. Boy, we had a great times drag racing! His favorite things in life were fishing , hunting, camping, cooking for everyone, and most importantly, his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
In 2016, he lost his leg, but never let that slow him down or hold him back from the things he loved to do. He had a huge heart and loved to make you laugh or smile. He was a big ole Teddy Bear, and his bark was worse than his bite.
His memorial service will be Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm, and please wear your masks. It will be at Good Hope Worship Center, 131 Arrant Road, West Monroe, LA. Officiating the service will be Buster Willmore. Following the service, the family would like for you to stay for fellowship.
