Obituary for Wayne Sebren

Graveside service for Mr. Wayne Sebren of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Family will receive friends for visitation, 5:00pm until 8:00pm, Friday, March 19, 2021 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe.

Wayne was born February 14, 1941 and passed from this life March 18, 2021 at the age of 80.
Ellis Wayne Sebren passed away on March 18th, 2021 surrounded by his family after a brief struggle with cancer. He was born on Valentine's day in 1941 in Bastrop, Louisiana.

Left behind to remember him is Martile Sebren, his wife of 29 years; his children Deborah Sebren, Craig Sebren, Lisa Sebren, Michelle Sebren, stepsons Brian Johnson and his wife Cynthia, and Scott Johnson; His sisters Ina Dosser and Judy Spikes and her husband Jimmy; half brother, Mike Sebren;, numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Wayne retired after serving 20 years in the United States Navy, he had a big heart and was a patient, caring, and loving father and husband.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Sebren and Wynema White and his sister Shirley, and her husband Gerald West.

Wayne was a decorated Senior Chief Petty officer who served in Vietnam and retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. He went on to retire from Sears after another 20 years. Wayne enjoyed bowling and golf and had both a perfect 300 score and 2 holes in one. He enjoyed spending time in his yard and with his wife.

Wayne had fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and loved spending time with his family.
