Obituary for Wallace "Mike" Ford

Services celebrating the life of Wallace Michael (aka Mikey, Mike, Booger) Ford, 48, of West Monroe, La. will be as follows: Open visitation Tuesday May 17 from 12 noon until 1:30pm at Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Drive in West Monroe followed by a graveside service at Mulhearn Memorial Park on Highway 80 East in Monroe, Louisiana with Rev. Jay George officiating.

Mike died quite unexpectedly on Friday May 13, 2022. Mike was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church. He spent most of his life working as a HVAC technician, but he also very much enjoyed the time spent working derricks while drilling. He loved cars, trucks and motorcycles and had “a knack for making motors crank”. He always had a story to tell and could make those around him laugh. Mike had a big heart and was always willing to help those in need.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Alexander Ford and father, Wallace E. “Buddy” Ford.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years Melynda Bankson Ford; stepchildren, Julia Renfrow, husband, Bailey and Will Blankenship, sister, Misty Mims, husband, Tommy, nephews Tanner Mims and Hunter Mims, uncles Jim Alexander and wife Gail, Guy Alexander, Jr., Mike Alexander and wife Debbie, cousins; Also survived by extended family and many friends as he rarely met a stranger.

Pall bearers will be Jason Young, Jeff Shelton, Bill Gray, Tal Simpson, Doug Angel and Craig Moffett, who will also be in the procession to the graveside providing that beloved thunder for Mike’s last ride.
Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
