Celebration of life for Venson "Pete" Joe Clampit of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, June 4, 2022, in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe, LA.
Visitation will be 12:00pm until time of service at the funeral home.

Pete Clampit was born September 22, 1936 and passed from this life June 2, 2022 at the age of 85 as the last remaining sibling of ten children.

Pete valued his family above all else and was always unapologetically himself. You knew he loved you if he had a nickname for you, and if he didn’t, it was only because he hadn’t come up with one yet.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Clydie Clampit; two sisters, Marie Rash and Alice “Red” Warren; seven brothers, Vernon “Slick”, Howard “Poe”, Shannon “John”, Tom “Bugs”, Felton “Jake”, Vertis “Gil”, and Wayne “Ink”; and grandson, Joseph "Earl"

Those left to cherish his memories, continue the card games, and keep the fish reeled in are his wife, Clyde “Mom”, children, Donna “D” and husband, Mike, Belinda “Lightening” and husband, Dale, Randy “Goob” and wife, LaJean, and Leslie “Son” and husband, Brad. His grandchildren, Christy and husband, Charlie, Jason and wife, Kelli, LaShay and husband, Brad, Blake and wife, Leslie, Doug, Michael and wife, Amber, Josh and wife, Adrian, Jeremy and wife, Ashley, Danielle and husband, Jeremiah, Jennifer and Husband, Harvey, Hadley, Maddy, and Harper; Also survived by numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Note to Daddy/Pawpaw:
We will miss you on this earth, but find comfort knowing you are rejoicing in Heaven with your mom, dad, sisters, and brothers. We can almost hear the laugher and those dominos shuffling from here. Hug Joseph tight for us. We love you always.
