Funeral Service for Velma Ann Smith of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, September 11, 20109 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral, 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe, LA with
Bro. Ricky Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 12pm until time of service at the funeral home.
Velma was born February 7, 1940 and passed from this life on September 7, 2019 at the age of 79.
She was an exceptional cook and loved spending time with family, she also enjoyed doing cross word puzzles and listening to southern gospel music.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roy R Smith; parents, Sybil and Hurley Weaver; brother, Paul Weaver; sisters, Betty Hearald, and Zelda Benton.
Those left to cherish her memories include, sons, Mike Smith, Tommy Smith and wife Tonja, Richard Smith, and Gary Smith; daughters, Karen Nall and husband James, Sandra Smith, and Linda Smith-Yount and husband Alvin; brothers, Johnnie Weaver, Roy Weaver and wife Louise; sisters, Sue White and husband Paul, Delilah Jones and husband Ray, and Linda Ellington; special niece, Kathy Green, and numerous other nieces and nephews; seventeen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; Also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Larry Smith, Alan Smith, Alvin Yount, Jamie Meredith.
