Obituary for Terry Dalton Johns
Graveside service for Terry Dalton Johns of Transylvania, LA, will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, April 4, 2022, at Northeast LA Veterans Cemetery, Rayville, LA., under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
Mr. Johns was born December 14, 1943, and passed from this life on March 29, 2022, in Shreveport, LA. at the age of 78.
Terry was a graduate of the Lake Providence High School, Lake Providence, LA. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. Upon returning from the service, he attended Spartan College of Aeronautics-Aviation Trade School graduating as an Airplane Mechanic. After graduating he returned to his hometown of Transylvania, LA. Most of his lifetime was spent flying and working on crop dusting planes. Terry also worked with his brothers on their farmland.
He is preceded in death by his father, J.D. Johns, mother, Martiel A. Johns, and brother, Travis Johns.
Those left to cherish his memory include his siblings, Linda J. McCullough of Shreveport, LA, Lena Gayle Dillon of Jonesboro, LA., Larry L. Johns and wife Marsha of Shreveport, LA., Gary Johns and wife Judy of Transylvania, LA., Gawain Johns of New Iberia, LA., Leslie Johns of Jonesboro, LA., Judy Johns of Shreveport, LA., Jan Johns of Winnfield, LA., and Keith Johns of Terry, MS.
Survived by: Aunt Audrey Johns, a host of nieces, nephews, and extended friends and family.
The Johns family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Northwest LA War Veterans Home in Bossier City, LA., the doctors, nurses and staff at Christus Highland in Shreveport, LA., also would like to thank the emergency staff at Willis Knighton Pierremont of Shreveport, LA.
