Mrs. Syble Joyce Thomas
Funeral services for Mrs. Syble Joyce Thomas of Monroe, LA will be 11:00am Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home 600 Hwy 139 Monroe with Rev. David Willoughby officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:30am until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thomas was born October 21, 1942 in Bernice, LA and passed from this life on April 6, 2019 in Monroe, LA at the age of 76. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Monroe. In her early years she enjoyed playing tennis and participated in the national championship where she placed 2nd. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, friends, and her “fur baby “Lolly”. She was always a dependable, giving person who loved to take care of and help others. Syble was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all who met her. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bynum and Mary King; two sons, Scotty Thomas and Clint Thomas; and two brothers, Donald King and Ted King.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, James Rudolph Thomas of Monroe; her daughter, Stacy Medaries (Donald Magee) of Monroe; her brother, Rex King and wife, Pat of Farmerville; her sister, Carolyn Sharp and husband, Ronnie of Sterlington; one grandson, Quinton Chase Medaries of Monroe; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
