Funeral services for Sybil Battaglia will be 4:00pm Saturday, March 23, 2019 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home 600 Hwy 139 Monroe with Bishop R. L. Endsley officiating. Private interment will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 2:00on until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Battaglia was born June 7, 1929 in Pineville, LA and passed from this life on March 19, 2019 in Monroe, LA at the age of 89.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Mike Joseph Battaglia; her parents, Ruby and Kirby Youngblood; and one son, Ronald Dale Battaglia; brother, Glyndell Ray Youngblood and Kirby youngblood, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Gerald Battaglia and his wife, Brenda of Monroe, and Mike Battaglia of Monroe; one daughter, Kathy Battaglia of Monroe; brother, James Youngblood; sister, Shirley Meredith and husband Mike; also survived by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Michael, Jerry and Kathy,

I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Sybil. Most of my childhood memories include her and Uncle Mike and cooking on Sunday’s at their house. It was always a good time! My thoughts and prayers are will all of you during this time

Traveling to their home on the weekend for Barbecues. Always looked forward to it.She always had her fresh dill, and made sure there was plenty of food. Mrs. Betty across the road always brought the best baked beans.

Michael, Jerry, Kathy & Family, We are so sorry to hear about Sybil. Your Mother was a good friend and she was like part of our family. Just know you are all in our thoughts and prayers .
