Obituary for Stella Ruth Potter


A funeral mass for Stell a Ruth Bolton Potter, 76 of West Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00am,
Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at St. Paschal’s Catholic Church, West Monroe, LA with Father Adrian Fischer officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA, under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
Visitation will be 5:00pm until 6:30pm, and Divine Mercy at 6:30pm, Tuesday, May 3, 2022 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe, LA.

Stella passed away after a long battle with Dementia and Parkinson disease.

Anyone that knew Stella knew that she was compassionate, kind, and helpful in any way that she could be. She was a lifelong devout catholic and member of St. Paschal's Catholic Church. She participated in many church groups including meals on wheels, St. Vincent De Paul's Society, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Daily Mass & Rosary group, Herbal Harvest Festival, Vacation Bible School and many more until she was unable to participate.

Stella was a retired state employee with the Dept of Rehabilitation Services of Louisiana. Upon retiring, she volunteered many hours at Family Promise, Salvation Army, Grace Plack and her church. In her later years, she was even helpful in the nursing home by pushing fellow residents in their wheelchairs and visiting with many. Her kind, loving, generous and beautiful soul will never be forgotten by those that knew her.

Stella was born on June 15, 1945, in Monroe, LA to the union of Hazel Jernigan Bolton and Wade Elmoore Bolton, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings: Joyce Earline Bolton, William (Bill) Bolton, Robert Earl Bolton, Hazel Faye (Saye-Faye) Bolton Endsley, Wade (Buster) Edwin Bolton

She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 19 years Orville Edwin Potter, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memories are Gary Don Lupo, Jr. She is also survived by a host of wonderful lifelong friends.
