Obituary for Shirley Jean Williams
Graveside services for Ms. Shirley Jean Williams of West Monroe, LA will be 4:00PM Monday, May 17, 2021 at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Calhoun under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Ms. Williams was born October 6, 1946 and passed from this life on May 15, 2021 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 74. She loved spending time in her yard, especially gardening her flowers and enjoying their beauty. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, and decorating her home. Shirley loved her outside pet squirrel named “Rocky” and would feed him on a regular basis. She especially had a love for her beloved dog, “Baby”. She was a loving wife, mother and sister and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Marie Mayes; one sister, Patricia Campbell; and one brother, Freddie Mayes.
Survivors include her son, Rob Williams of West Monroe; two brothers, Kenneth Mayes and wife, Bonnie of West Monroe, and Ricky Mayes and wife, Dawn of Rocky Branch; one sister, Penny Dulaney and husband, Donald of Sikes; special nephew, Deveon Mayes, whom she named “Tweety”, of Rocky Branch; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Rowton, Buford Smalling and Gary Hales.
