Obituary for Savell W. Norris
Funeral services for Mr. Savell W. Norris of Jonesboro, LA will be 10:00AM Saturday, May 1, 2021 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe with Bro. Randy Lee and Bro. Chris Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Friday, April 30, 2021 at the funeral home.
Our precious husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend left this world peacefully to be with his heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 28, 2021. He retired from the Riverwood International in West Monroe in 2000 after 28 years of service. He spent his time after retirement at his Caney Lake haven. He was an avid fisherman of all species.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Edna Mae Norris; his daughter, Leslie Stewart; his son, Jimmy Norris; and grandsons, Logan Heard, Justin Ford, Michael Woods and Jace Roberts.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Carolyn Norris; his daughters, Carmen Ford, Melanie Tucker (Wetzal), and Lori Keeler; his step-daughters, Pam McMullen, Terry White, Donna Waggoner (Randy), and Sonya Duncan; his sisters, Yvone McLane and Blanche McCoy; his brothers, Carl Norris (Delores) and John Norris (Ann); twenty-eight grandchildren, Jamie Miniard, Savell Ford Norris, Amanda Morgan, Kalee & Karly Tucker, Blake Shute, Cody Smith, Maegan Landry, Tyler & Seth Heard, Kelena & Donovan Stewart, Daniele McGough, Ricky Lee McMullen, Crystal Brasher, Heath Calhoun, Sr., Jacob Patterson, Christy May, Randy Waggoner, Jr., Heather Humble, Hayley Coburn, Drew White, Dustin Craighead, Kayla Spires, Rachel Bothel, Adrianah Richmond, Sommer Peeples and Jessica Hill; forty-eight great-grandchildren, Jacob, Allison, Brayden, Caroline, Adalynn, Liam, Dakota, Alana, Zaiden, Elizabeth, Genevieve, Devon, Kendell, Mylee, Dyllon, Auston, Heather, Heath, Jr., Hayden, Baylee, John Mark, Cody, Caden, Jaxson, Rowan, Briana, Garrett, Daniel, Nicholas, Nigel, Lilyanne, Brock, Briggs, Hunter Brylee, Cade, Ryder, Raven, Brohdy, Katie Rayne, Ethan, Zoie, Alex, Austin, Eliza, Aiden, Jett, Ty and Trevor; five great great-grandchildren, Will, Stetson, Landry, Remington Layne, and Sawyer Elaine on the way to arrive May 10; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Yakaboski and grandsons, Blake, Cody, Ford, Tyler, Ricky Lee, Drew, Dustin and junior pallbearers Brock and Briggs Craighead. Honorary pallbearers will be Heath Calhoun, John Norris Jr., Jay Odom and Wetzal Hill.
The family would like to extend a special recognition to Dustin and Allison Craighead, Phillip and Debbie Dahl, Mike and Rita Dortch, Justin Wyatt, John Norris, Jr., and Charlotte Odom for the special care given to our beloved Savell.
