Russell William Vallotton, Sr.
A celebration of life for Mr. Russell William Vallotton, Sr., “Pop” will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Griffin Funeral Home 911 Warren Dr. West Monroe.
Mr. Vallotton was born July 24, 1949 in Shreveport, LA and gained his angel wings after a long and valiant battle from complications due to esophageal cancer on August 18, 2019 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 70. He made it home which was his wish and was surrounded by family and friends. Russell had a decade of working law enforcement and worked for over 20 years in the medical field. He retired from Oschner LSU Health (Conway) in Monroe, where he held the position of material manager for over 10 years. His favorite pastime was following his red-headed girls wherever they went. Whether it was ballfields, pageants, or dance, he was always there supporting the ones he loved. He loved looking at old cars with his son, Russell, and watching Saints football. Russell also enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing but spending time with his family was his favorite thing to do. He was a great husband, daddy, and Pop to his family and will be greatly missed by everyone.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Christine Vallotton; one brother, Albert, Jr.; his granddaughter, Tera Hall; and his grandson, John Hall, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 21 years, Colette H. Vallotton of West Monroe; his children, Lisa Vallotton of Tuscon, AZ, Russell Vallotton, Jr. and wife, Malena of Jena, Diana Grant and husband, Cleve of Columbia, Johnathan Rayner of West Monroe, and Afton Dumolt and husband, Clay of Calhoun; his grandchildren, Keagyn Barrett, Kayli Barrett, both of Calhoun, Julie Norrell and husband, Bradley of Columbia, and Josh Medina; one great-granddaughter, Anne-Marie Hall; one sister, Marie Hyer of Galveston, TX; his memory will also be cherished by numerous friends, family and co-workers.
