Obituary for Robin Ann Burchfield

Robin Ann Love Burchfield, 45, of West Monroe, Louisiana passed away peacefully after fiercely fighting pancreatic cancer. Robin was born to Connie Juel and Earl Love in Hugoton, Kansas, May 13, 1975.

After graduating from Satanta High School, Robin moved to Greeley, Colorado. In Greeley, Robin learned the joy of being a caregiver as a Direct Support Professional. She then became a Certified Nurse’s Assistant, providing care to her first true love, Nathan Bunn, who had been severely injured in an automobile accident.

Robin later moved to West Monroe, Louisiana where she worked in childcare before becoming a Pediatric Receptionist at Melanie Massey Physical Therapy. Robin later assisted her fiancé as a receptionist for their roofing company before returning to the healthcare field as a Patient Compliance Specialist with Vantage Health.

Robin lit up the room with her infectious smile and energy. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, fishing, boating, singing, dancing, and playing Farkle. Robin attended several different churches over the years and loved to worship. “It’s about Love,” she would say. Robin had a gift of compassion and empathy that fit well with her line of work and earned her the love of many friends.

Robin is survived by her parents: Connie and Tony Juel of Satanta, Kansas; Earl and Karen Love of Hugoton, Kansas, and her fiancé, Scott Cowart of West Monroe, Louisiana. She will be greatly missed by her children: Caleb Dunmire of Marysville, Kansas; Madison Niles of West Monroe, Louisiana; Lydia and Jackson Burchfield of West Monroe, Louisiana; stepson, Layne Cowart and “adopted” son, Daniel Kelly, both of West Monroe, Louisiana.

Robin is also survived by her siblings: Earl (Melissa) Peterson of Hugoton, Kansas; Jana Benton (Jim Lozar) of Sublette, Kansas; Gina (Rollie) Jacquart of Rocky Ford, Colorado; stepbrother Jared Juel of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and “adopted” brother, Keith Hester of West Monroe, Louisiana. Robin was adored by her many nieces and nephews: Trisha (Alec) Cornelius, Stephanie Dunmire, Alex Flores (Alicia Lamar), Brendon and Tanner Madison, Hadley Lozar, Brodey Hurd, Kye Peterson, Alex and Ryan Juel, Kayden Miller and Miah Cornelius.

In truth, Robin would want EVERYONE she knew, loved, and cared for to be listed as her survivors as she considered all as her family.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering on July 27th at 6pm at Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe LA 71291. Visitation will be from 5-6pm. Due to COVID 19, attendees will be asked to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. There will be a video of the service posted to Robin’s Prayer Warrior Facebook page. There will be a Celebration of Life in the Fall. There will also be memorial/life celebration service in Robin's hometown of Satanta, Kansas at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Griffin Funeral Home to help defray the cost of services. Donations can be made online here.

The family extends their heart-felt thanks to the many people who donated to Robin’s Go Fund Me to help cover the cost of her care over the past 5 months.

A special thank you goes out to Louisiana Hospice & Palliative Care nurse (and sister-in-love), Natalie Ward, who went above and beyond to provide care to Robin and her family during this time. Additional thanks to Pilots for Patients who helped transport Robin safely to and from her appointments at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
