Obituary for Robert Bates "Snuffy" Pickering
Graveside service for Mr. Robert Bates "Snuffy" Pickering of West Monroe, LA will be held at 3:00pm, Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Acree Cemetery in Point, LA.
Robert was born May 25, 1931 and passed from this life December 9, 2020 at the age of 89.
He was an iron worker at Union 710 for 37 years, he served in the United States Army during the korean war. He was a welder and forman of numerous construction jobs and was widely known as "snuffy" to co-workers and friends.
Mr. Robert "Snuffy" was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Katie Pickering, two brothers, E.N. Pickering and James Pickering, three sisters, Agnes Guitreau, Nellie Juneau, and Lilly Pickering.
Survivors include his wife of 67, his honey, Jean Duty Pickering, one daughter, Julia Kay Sanson Dewey; his pride and joy and his world, his three grandsons, Justin Sanson (Rhonda), Jarrod Sanson, Joshua Sanson, one granddaughter, Julia Landry, two great grandsons, Kaden Sanson and Kolton Landry; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews closest to his heart.
Pallbearers include Justin Sanson, Jarrod Sanson, Joshua Sanson, Chase Sanson, Paul DeVillier, and Dewey Sanson.
