Obituary for Patricia Ann "Pat" Avant

Patricia (Pat) Ann Jones Avant
West Monroe, LA
A Celebration of Life Service for Pat Avant, 73, of West Monroe, will be held at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, with Rev. Charles Martindale officiating. Pat was born on March 5, 1946 in Monroe and passed from this life on November 23, 2019 in West Monroe, with her family by her side as she passed into the arms of Jesus and His angels.
Mrs. Avant is preceded in death by her father, Stephen Riley Jones from Jackson Parish and her mother, Eloise H. Jones from Danville, VA.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, “Together Forever” George Avant, SR; children: daughter, Angela Avant Pardue (Kevin) and children, Kaleb Pardue (Shelby), Kohl and Kayleigh; daughter, Stephanie Kay Avant-Traina (Todd) and children, Todd ‘T.J., AshLyn, Riley Ann, and Makayla; son, George ‘Eddie’ Avant, JR (Reannon) and children, Scott, Brittney, Hunter, and Willis; brother, Stephen Jones (Frances); and a niece, Tracey Cassels; nephew, Matthew Jones; and other family and friends.
Pat was involved daily studying The Word and sharing her faith and prayers with others. Pat enjoyed her hobby of reading, writing to her pen pals, and watching LSU, The Saints, and Hallmark movies. Pat was very devoted to caring for her husband and family, as well as her friends, especially Judy Kilcrease, who Pat considered her sister in the Earth and forever in Christ. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 23.
Psalms 26:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Our mom was an organ donor. Her corneas were able to be donated. She gave sight to someone.
‘Together Forever’ is a special term of endearment that our parents would say. We were blessed to witness an absolute epic love story of 53 years, between our parents.
