Noble Leo Tillman Jr. Obituary
Noble was born to the union of Noble Tillman Sr. and Louise Tucker Tillman on September 1, 1939 at the Tillman Hotel on Jonesboro Road. Noble was one of four children and attended West Monroe high school until he enlisted in the Unites States Air Force on September 10, 1956. Throughout his career Noble worked at LP&L, Olinkraft, Temple Inland, and Bellsouth. During his career Noble also installed water wells and water lines as well as did woodworking. Noble was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Noble enjoyed spending time with family, hunting, cooking, texting, and serving others. Noble was well known for his delicious food and could often be found cooking for church events, fundraisers, and those in need. Noble was a true example of what being a servant of the Lord looked like.
Funeral services for Mr. Noble Leo Tillman Jr. will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Griffin Funeral Home located at 911 Warren Drive in West Monroe, LA. Officiating will be Jay Copeland, Rev. Jimmy Masters, and Rev. Ben Petrella. Family will accept friends for visitation from 11:30am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Internment will follow at Mt. Vernon Church Cemetery in West Monroe, LA.
He is preceded in death by his parents Noble Tillman Sr. and Louise Tucker Tillman; sister, Jo Gilley; sister, Lila Louise Tillman; Father-in-law, Julius M. Tarver Sr; Mother-in-law, Dovie Smith Tarver; niece, Delayne Hendrix.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years, Lola Tarver Tillman; son, Donnie Tillman (Samantha); daughter, Libby Bonner (Jim); son, Ken Tillman (Brandy); sister, Sande Tillman Saul (Ken); brother in law, Moise Tarver; grandchildren, Brittany Faulkenberry (Paul), Jason Bonner, Rachel Purser (Zach), JoBeth Kinney (Matt), Dallion Tillman, and Dorian Tillman; great grandchildren, Shelby, Jax, Ty, Brayden, Hattie, and Eden; nieces, Bonnie Thorn (Scott), Tracie Downs (Eric), Jodi Tarver and Jennifer Knight; nephews, Mike Jones (Ellen), Joseph Mitchell (Claire), Jacob Mitchell, and Josh Tarver (Megan); and a host of extended family and friends. Noble’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Patrick Regan, Pete Sims, Don Givens, Frank Ricks, David Callaway, Lex Giddens and Sonny Telano.
