Funeral Services for Melba Cile Bonnett a loving mother, and grandmother from West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe with Darren Lenard officiating. Interment will follow at Beulah Cemetery in Calhoun, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 5pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
Melba was born May 9, 1932 in Calhoun, LA and passed from this earth on March 20, 2021 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 88. She was a member of West Monroe Methodist Protestant Church, loved working in her flowerbeds, collecting butterflies and spending time with her grandson and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, “Dick” Ira Bonnett; son, Michael Bonnett; brother, JL Whitehead, sister-in-law, Laverne Whitehead; brother, Mitchell Whitehead; sister-in-law, Mary Whitehead; sisters, Laverne Wright, Dorothy Bishop and Baby Sister.
Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Susie Lenard and husband, Don of West Monroe, LA; grandson, Larry Lenard and wife, Amanda; three great-grandchildren, Jayse Lenard, Karsyn Lenard and Grayson Harris.
She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Buster Brown, Ray Lenard, Jake Sant, Kelly Magouirk, Ed Lenard, and Chip Thompson.
