I am a member of Trinity Lutheran Church which is how I became acquainted with Mary Ann. Memories I have of her are hugs at church [before the c'virus], visits with her during her last hospitalization at Glenwood Hospital, cards, and last, but certainly not least, our last phone call about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Oh, could that woman talk ! That phone call lasted over 2 hours ! I am know as having no problem talking but Mary Ann beat me out ! Besides our faith, Mary Ann and I had the same oncologist, something else we had in common. And, she was definitely not afraid of confrontation [another attribute we shared] and according to the experiences she shared, she beat me in that category also [referencing to the incident at the hospital when she was banned from the ICU.] What a mess she was ! Truly a character. I consider myself lucky to have known her. And now she is where she knew she would end up - with her Lord and Savior - no pain, no treatments, no disabilities. What Joy !

Mary Ann was a hero to me. I called her frequently to check up on her and she ALWAYS sounded upbeat and positive. I knew that she was undergoing chemo that week or that she had to have a blood transfusion recently, and she would share that news with me, but she ALWAYS made me feel better! What a jewel this lady was here on earth and I can only imagine what she will be in heaven. Jo Ann Lewis - member of Trinity Lutheran Church
