Obituary for Mary Katherine McGuire Davis
A celebration of life for Mrs. Mary Katherine McGuire Davis of Greenville, SC will be 2:00PM Sunday, June 13, 2021 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe with Bro. Scott Fletcher officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00PM until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Davis was born July 27, 1947 in Monroe, LA and passed from this life on June 9, 2021 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 73. She was a longtime member of John Knox Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC, where she was the children’s choir director and handbell director for many years. She was also a member of D.A.R. and Crescent Music Club. She enjoyed spending time with family, loved to travel and especially loved music. Mary Katherine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie and friend and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by parents, James and Willie McGuire; two brothers, Herman McGuire, and James McGuire, Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Michael Davis of Greenville, SC; her daughter, Melissa Davis Waltman of LaFrance, SC; one sister, Charlotte McGuire Robinson of West Monroe; three grandchildren, Michael Waltman of Spartanburg, SC, Davis Waltman of Mauldin, SC, and Katie Waltman of Walhalla, SC; four great-grandchildren, Cynthia Thompson, Alana Thompson and Logan Thompson, all of Walhalla, SC, and Katarina Waltman of Mauldin, SC; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
