Obituary for Marion Pettis
Funeral service celebrating the life of Marion “Hardy” Pettis of West Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, August 26, 2020 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe with Bryan Ulmer and Clay Corley officiating.
Interment will follow at McKnight Cemetery in Holly Ridge, under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends for visitation 10am until time of service at the funeral home.
Marion was born April 25, 1927 and passed from this life August 23, 2020 at Ridgecrest Rehabilitation Center, West Monroe at the age of 93.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Erma Goyne; sisters, Myrtle, Pete, Elvie, Maude, Aline, Gena, and Mary Lee; step sons, James Pettis and Mike Pettis; brothers, Bo and Bennie, and their spouses.
Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Cecilia Beaver and husband Lyle of Iowa City, IA; sons, Guy Armstrong and wife Dona of Texarkana, TX, and Ross Armstrong and wife Donna of West Monroe, LA; step sons, Ed Pettis and wife Virginia of West Monroe, and Randy Pettis and wife Janine of Austin, TX; also survived by her grandchildren, Michelle Kendrick, Stacy Roder, Eric Armstrong, Aaron Armstrong, Chad Givens, Christi Frisch, Blaine Armstrong, Paige Crowson, Allie Ulmer, Kinsley Corley and their spouces; twenty five great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and caregiver, Jasmine Otis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers serving include her grandkids, Blaine Armstrong, Kyler Hicks, Colton Hicks, Eric Armstrong, Aaron Armstrong, and Micah Kendrick.
