Funeral services for Mrs. Marilyn D. Lacas of Chatham, LA will be 3:00pm Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Caney Lake Baptist Church, 10030 LA Highway 4, Chatham, LA with Rev. Lance Otwell officiating. Interment will follow at Caney Lake Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe. Visitation will be 1:00pm until time of service Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Marilyn was born June 14, 1948 in Wisner, LA and passed from this life on March 31, 2019 in Monroe, LA at the age of 70.
Mrs. Marilyn was a member of Caney Lake Baptist Church, a former member of LA Sportsman’s Hunting Club and was a retired kitchen manager for the LA Department of Corrections.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Lillie Martin; three brothers; two sisters; and a granddaughter, Staci Pepper.
Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 53 years, Robert W. Lacas; three daughters, Rhonda Spells and husband Danny, Sheila Patton and husband Michael, and Mary Smith and husband Curtis; her sister, Joyce Fontaine; also survived by four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Kitty DeGree Breast Health Center, 2600 Tower Drive, Monroe, LA 71201.
