Obituary

Graveside service for Mr. Luther Allen Powell, Sr. of West Monroe, LA will be held at 12:00pm, Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans’ Cemetery in Rayville, under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Mr. Luther was born August 8, 1950 and passed from this life August 12, 2020 at the age of 70.

He enjoyed watching sports and telling jokes, he especially loved fishing and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Melvin and ollie Powell; wife, Linda Powell; brothers, Robert Norman, and Ray Powell and sister, Geraldine Knight.

Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Banzo and husband Rene; sons, Luther Allen Powell, Jr. and Melvin Powell and wife Reba; adopted sons, Mike Holland and Mike Smith; adopted daughters, Lindsey Ashley, and Misty Holland; also survived by ten grandchildren, four great-grand-child, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
