Obituary for Kim McPherson Patrick

Kimberly Kaye McPherson Patrick (Kim), passed away unexpectedly Friday November 15, 2019 at the young age of 54. Visitation will be at Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe on Monday November 18, 2019 from 5 to 7 PM and Tuesday November 19th from 9 to 11 AM. Service will be at the funeral home at 11 AM with Brother Larry Linson presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun.

Kim is preceded in death by her father, Marlon Clark McPherson Sr.; maternal & paternal grandparents as well as all aunts and uncles. Kim is survived by her husband, Ronald Wayne Patrick. She leaves behind her children and grandchildren: Daughter Amber McPherson Juppstrom (Dennis), son Heath McPherson (Christy), daughter Leanne Patrick Brennon, and stepdaughter Summer Patrick Allen. Grandchildren Cade & Marlonya Evans, Kai & Sarah Grace McPherson, Jayden & Nevaeh Brennon, step grandchildren Shaydon Harper, Skylar Hunter, Baylor & Sydney Allen. Kim is also survived by her mother Jimmie Gayle McPherson Ashley (Buddy), brother Marty McPherson (Sonya), sister Patti McPherson Zeigler (Tim), nieces and nephews are Paxton, Addi, Reed, Sydni & Colton Zeigler.

Kim has been employed by the Ouachita Parish School System in the cafeteria setting for 27 years. She has served as the cafeteria manager at Drew Elementary for the past 16 years. She has touched the lives of so any through the years in this role as “Miss Kim,” loving the students, faculty & staff at Drew. The Drew cafeteria staff will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Kim’s family as the ladies there were more than just coworkers, they were extended family and a life support system.

Kim had a larger than life boisterous personality. She never met a stranger and enjoyed becoming fast friends over Chilis’ El Presidente Margaritas. Kim loved all unconditionally and was a tireless servant whenever there was a need. She was an amazing cook.

Kim was a 10-year survivor of breast cancer and known by so many as one of the toughest people they knew. Most importantly, Kim drew her strength from Christ and God’s Word. Kim’s love and laughter will be greatly missed by so many.

Pallbearers will be Chris Chappell, Brain Goodling, Curtis Goodling, Jared Hernandez, Marcus Lowery, and Brandon Massey. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Harris, and Roger Vestal.
