Obituary for Kenny Wayne Lovelady

Interment will follow at Lapine Assembly of God Church Cemetery, under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.

Kenny was born on January 4, 1967 in West Monroe, Louisiana. He attended vocational school and acquired trade skills to become a machinist. On April 21, 1995, he married Melody Dupree Lovelady. They raised one son, Brian Tristen Lovelady. His wife and son were the loves of his life.
Kenny was employed with Sprayfoam Equipment & Manufacturing. He played a vital role in the machine shop and research and development was his favorite task. He thoroughly enjoyed his job, and his work family was an extension of his own family.

He loved life. He loved God and believed in the power of prayer and miracles. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He will be missed dearly.
He was a true outdoorsman and was always open for a new adventure. He was a very simple man, and his adventures could be anything from eliminating pesky squirrels feasting on his fruit trees in his back yard to hunting moose on the Yukon River; anything from creek fishing in Chatham to halibut fishing or salmon snagging in the Kachemak Bay.

He was a family man. You could find him routinely visiting with his Mom immediately after work. You could find him enjoying a meal at the dining table with his wife and son in the evenings, where they would share the pits and peaks of their day. There were date nights and family birthdays and Sunday lunches and genuinely good times shared amongst his family.

Kenny is preceded in death by his brother, Brian Keith Lovelady; cousin, Clint Andrew Caraway; grandmother, Hazel Caraway; father-in-law, William Dupree, Sr.; stepmother, Darlene Lovelady.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 25 years, Melody Dupree Lovelady, of Eros, Louisiana; son, Brian Tristen Lovelady, of Eros, Louisiana; mother, Norma Lowe and stepfather, Ron, of Eros, Louisiana; father, Roger Lovelady, of West Monroe, Louisiana; brother, Terry Hamilton and wife, Shelley, of West Monroe, Louisiana; niece, Brittany Vines, of Calhoun, Louisiana; nephew, Ethan Dupree; nephew, Ryder Hamilton; niece, Hattie Hamilton; nephew, Ezra Dupree; niece, Solina Hamilton; great-nephew, Drake Vines; mother-in-law, Brenda Dupree, and stepfather-in-law, Donald Hall, of Lufkin, Texas; brother-in-law, William Dupree, Jr., of West Monroe, Louisiana and a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers are Eric Bentson, Greg Buford, Johnny Kinman, Ryan Tyler, Rich Waldroup, Wendell Wiggins, and honorary pallbearer, William Dupree, Jr.
Melody and Tristen would like to send a heartfelt thanks to the professionals at Acadian Ambulance,
Glenwood Regional Medical Center, Air Med and the University of Alabama Birmingham for the medical care that Kenny received during this very difficult time.
