Funeral services for Mrs. Kala Caples Barfoot, 49, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held Friday, January 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, with Dr. Randy Burdeaux officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery, West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Kala was born in West Monroe, Louisiana on January 6, 1971 and passed away at her home on her birthday, January 6, 2020. She graduated from Ridgedale Academy where she made life-long friendships, many of which she still enjoyed today. She worked for many years in the medical field. Even at her lowest times, and throughout her many struggles, Kala never lost her faith in God. Kala’s quick wit and infectious laugh will be missed by her family and friends.
Kala is preceded in death by her father, Glen Crowell, her mother, Betty Bamburg, her brother, G.G. Crowell, and her grandmothers, Merle Bennett and Lucille Pollard.
Survivors include her husband Charles Eric Barfoot, her daughter, Callie Zuber, and her step-children, Chris, Kala, Zach, Austin, Colby and Colter Barfoot and Chelsea Caples McCue. She is also survived by her siblings Robbie Gail Gambino and Thomas Gambino, Sr. and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Waggoner, Terry Hamilton, Chris Barfoot, Cody Cascio, Cory Crowell and Josh Crowell. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Gist, Charles Barfoot, Colby Barfoot, Hunter Israel and Tucker Israel.
