Funeral services for Ms. Judy Marie Day will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, September 22, 2022, in the Chapel of Griffin Funeral Home located at 911 Warren Drive in West Monroe. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe, LA., under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Ms. Judy was born on August 18, 1958, in Gainesville, GA, and passed from this life on September 17, 2022, in West Monroe, LA, at the early age of 64.
Judy Marie Day was born to Parents Billy and Mildred Murphy on August 18th, 1958; and passing away at the age of 64, on September 17, 2022. Judy will be deeply missed and always cherished; she was known for her incredible kindness and caring to everyone in her life and even a stranger. There was no arguing she had a heart of gold, a friend to all that came to know her. Along with her kindness and grace she was a happy go lucky person who absolutely loved to talk, she was much more of a talker than a listener but truly loved and enjoyed good conversation. It goes without saying she radiated love and her loved beamed down on her children and especially her grandchildren.
Judy was born in the state of Georgia where she went on to graduate high school and continue her education. She settled down in West Monroe and had a career in the insurance industry and a makeup artist. As an empty nester with her partner Dave, they enjoyed spending time together with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Billy H. Murphey and Mildred Murphey, and Martha Kees; and one brother Ricky Kees.
Those left to cherish and remember Judy are her two daughters Christina Halsell and Candice Halsell; Partner David Weems, siblings; Brenda Summers, Terry Kees, Sue Davis, Walter Kees, Kathy Neal, Jerry Kees, Michael Kees; six grandchildren Bryson Halsell, Kaydyn Andow, Amara Andow, Brayden Halsell, Harper Burgess, Maddox Burgess, and a grandson on the way due in November; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
