Obituary for Joseph L. Hemphill

Funeral service celebrating the life of Joseph Hemphill of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, June 5, 2021 at The Pentecostals of the Twin Cities with Pastor Jason Ramsey and Rev. Jimmy Masters officiating.
Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Family will receive friends for visitation 1pm until time of service at the church.

Joseph was born September 12, 1927 and passed from this life June 1, 2021 at the age of 93.
He was a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church for 65 years and was a former pastor of Chatham United Pentecostal Church. Joseph was employed for many years as a parts manager for Monroe Mack Trucks and other various automotive companies.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lena Hemphill, father, Houston Longino Hemphill, and infant sister.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Vivian Hemphill; son, Bruce Hemphill (Deion) of West Monroe, LA; daughters, Carol Hubbard (Gary) of Bossier City, LA., and Jodie Pitre of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Heath Hemphill (Katryn) of Liberty Hill, TX, Dr. Emily Hemphill (Dr. Jeffery Marsh) of Hollywood, FL, Garrett Hubbard (Britney) Bossier City, LA, Caroline Wheat (Anthony) of Orlando, FL, Torie Pitre of West Monroe, LA; great grandchildren, Gideon, Ariella, River, and Barrett Hemphill, and Ellia and Sparrow Hubbard, and two half sisters; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers include Heath Hemphill, Garrett Hubbard, Anthony Wheat, Jeff Marsh, Jay Copeland, and Kenneth Jenkins.
