Obituary for John Newton Bowers
Memorial services celebrating the life of John Newton (J.N.) Bowers of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Dr. West Monroe, with Bro. Larry Eubanks officiating. Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until time of service.
John was born on October 15, 1932 and passed from this life on January 12, 2021 at the age of 88. John spent his early career in the oil and gas industry. He was in the lawn care service in his later years with special customers in the Ruston area. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Rocky Branch.
John is preceded in death by John E Bowers (father), Allie Dumas Bowers Hicks (mother), Randy Bowers (son), Darlene Bowers (daughter-in-law), James (Windy) Winderweedle (son-in law), and Cora Floyd (stepdaughter).
Those left to cherish his memories will be Pauline (Polly) Thornhill Bowers, loving wife of 38 years, daughter Sissy Acree (Darvin), daughter Debbie Upshaw (Wayne), son Darrell Bowers (Janet Martin), stepdaughter Marilyn Berry (Derrell), stepdaughter Lydia Walters (Bryan), as well as 14 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
