Graveside service for Mr. Joe Elvis Armstrong will be held at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newelton, LA, at 2:00pm Saturday, March 28, 2020. Bro. Larry Walters will be officiating.

Joe Armstrong, 64, of Waterproof, LA was born on December 23, 1955 and passed from this life on March 24, 2020.

Mr. Armstrong worked as a farmhand and enjoyed spending his days outside.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Margaret Armstrong of Waterproof, LA; his son, Terry Cavanaugh of Michigan; his daughter, Shelley Armstrong or Waterproof, LA; his son, Jeffery Armstrong of St. Joe, LA; his brother Eric Armstrong and wife Jessica of St. Joe, LA; his brother, Shannon Armstrong and wife Vahon of Choudrant, LA; and sister, Connie Armstong of St. Joe, LA; three grandchildren of Michigan, Breanna Cavanaugh, Jordan Cavanaugh, and Ian Cavanaugh; two grandchildren of St. Joe, LA, Asia Johnson and Deon Percy; and a host of extended friends and family.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to help defray the cost of services.

Joe was always the first one at work every morning. He and I would always have a few minutes to visit before the other guys showed up. I’ve really missed that since he retired. He was a kind heart and a gentle soul. I know he’s been through a lot the past few years and he’s in a better place now. God bless all of you.
