Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle, and brother was a one of a kind man.
Daddy loved hunting, working in his garden, and cooking for his family. Wednesday and Saturday mornings were some of the days he looked forward to the most, running dogs at the pen with his longtime friends. He was a hardworking man and had been working since the age of 12.
He was a master mechanic and loved the challenge of fixing anything. He retired from Bentz and Elmore where he worked for almost 40 years. Through the years, he loved going to church, listening to his favorite pastor, Bro. Masters preaching and singing along with Sis. Becky. Dad was the one we could always go to with any problems and he would fix it. We will always cherish our time with him.
It is sometimes very difficult to put into words what a loved one means to the family. Daddy was that person, it never mattered what we had going on, he was always there. No task was ever too hard or complicated for his boys and him to figure out. That is what makes a family and he knew that.
Jimmy was born September 27, 1936 and passed from this life December 18, 2022 at the age of 86.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Eunice Sims, wife, Shirley Sims, brothers, Dub and Red Sims, and sisters, Rhonda and Charlotte Rose.
Those left to cherish his memory include his four children, James Dale, Steven Ray and wife, Kathy, Ronald Wayne and wife, Rachel, Larry Glenn and wife, Kathy, and brother, Scotty Sims. Also survived by nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
