Obituary for Jerry Edward Pool

Jerry Edward Pool 73, returned to his heavenly home on November 27,2019 after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

Jerry was born to the late OW & Leatha Vivian Pool in Eros Louisiana on May 1,1946. He was immersed in the Christian Faith by his mother at an early age and that would remain his lifelong value . He graduated from Eros high school where he enjoyed being an assistant basketball coach. October 10,1965 Jerry enlisted In the Air Force where he courageously served his country .He was a Guard over the napalm bombs where he was under constant threats and open fire for 363 days at Pleiku Vietnam In July 1968 he moved up in rank where he performed logistical work as the company commander chief. Keeping constant watch and record over all that occurred on the base.

Jerry loved reading the Bible, listening to music and Chuck Swendal. He also enjoyed farming as he was a chicken farmer for 40 years. He was loved and was very devoted to many neices and nephews.
He had a humble nature and didn't like to be recognized for his works he felt like it was all owed to God as he walked with the Holy Spirit daily.

Jerry is survived by his brother Richard Pool and is proceeded in death by his brothers and sisters Carl, Betty Jean, Leonard, Shirley, Amos, and Judy.

Please join us in honor of our beloved hero who touched the lives of so many people. Friends and guests are welcome to pay respects beginning at 5 o'clock till 8 p.m at Salem church in Eros Louisiana
Funeral services will be Presided by Pastor John Austin Tuesday, 10:00am, December 3, 2019 at the Salem Church in Eros Louisiana where Jerry was saved and baptized as a young man.

The family requests that no flowers and gifts are to be purchased. If you would like to honor Jerry ..you could purchase bibles for your local church.
