Obituary for James W. Whitaker
Funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. James W. Whitaker of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Apostolic Restoration Church, 108 WT Hemphill Drive, West Monroe, with Pastor Nathan Thornton officiating.
Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, in Calhoun, under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends for visitation, 12pm until time of service at the church.
Mr. James was a faithful member of Apostolic Restoration Church, every time the doors were open, he was there. He loved to fish and spend time with family.
Mr. James is preceded in death by his father, Guy Whitaker; mother, Helen and Ovis Staggs, Sr.; sister, Mary and Joe Underwood; daughter, Terrie Debnam; brother, Ovis Staggs, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memories include his son, Danny Whitaker; daughters, Julie Mulhearn and husband Jack; Jessica Nazario and husband Daniele Sr.; son, Justin Whitaker and wife Katie; sister, Dee A. Staggs; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers serving include, Scott Whitaker, Justin Whitaker, Jacob Takewell, Daniele Nazario, Jr., William Bonham, Juli'Ana Bordelon, Reid Bordelon, Brad Bordelon, Grayson Whitaker, and Zane Nazario.
