Funeral services for Mr. James Roy “Buddy” Fletcher, Jr. of West Monroe, LA will be held 2:00pm Thursday, March 21, 2019 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home 911 Warren Drive West Monroe with Rev. Skip Dean officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Choudrant, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until time of service Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the funeral home.

James retired from Georgia Pacific after 38 years and continued to work 16 more years with Century Tel and Georgia Pacific. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church for 56 years.

He is preceded in death by his two sisters, Charlotte Fletcher and Thelma O’Neal; one brother, Morris Fletcher; and his great-granddaughter, Eisley Willow Steele.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years, Janis Fletcher; two daughters, Charlotte Steele and husband, Robert, and Leslie Sanders and husband, Mark; two sisters, Gloria Pesnell and Jerry Von Andrews; four grandsons, Joshua, Jared, and Mitchell Steele, and Layton Sanders; two great-grandchildren, Samuel Spero and Olivia Steele; three step-grandchildren, Dana Roberts, Macy Wilhite, and Kelly Wright and their families; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Joshua, Jared, Mitchell, and Robert Steele, Layton Sanders and Mark Sanders.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice Compassus, and memorial donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Society.

I dont think i have never not known Mr Fletcher. I used to go home after church with He and Mrs Janice and nap. Good man with a good family!
