Obituary for James Jackson Finley
Memorial services for Mr. James Jackson Finley of West Monroe, LA will be 2:00PM Saturday, May 6, 2023, in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe with Son Robert Finley and Rev. Mark Rodie Officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00PM until time-of-service Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Finley was born June 14, 1933, and passed from this life on April 23, 2023, in West Monroe, LA at the age of 89. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, comping, helping to feed the homeless and the people in his Bawcomville community find Jesus, as well as trying to beat his wife in card games.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Doug, and Gladys Finley; older brother, Douglas “Sonny” Finley; younger brother, Darrell Finley; and sister Bobbie Downs.
Those left to cherish his memory include by his wife Mary Frances Finley of West Monroe; his children, Robert Finley and wife, Nell Finley of Haughton LA, Anne Finklea, Ricky Finely and wife, Cindy Finley and sister Dale Hatten; eight grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends
