Obituary for Hazel Marie "Marie" Hite
Funeral service for Marie Hite will be held at 2:00pm Saturday April 1, 2023 at Pleasant Valley Assembly of God in Downsville, LA with Pastor Norman Riordan and Bro Bruce McCoy officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 2:00pm Saturday April 1, 2023.
Marie Hite was born on July 18, 1928 and passed from this life on March 31, 2023 at the age of 94. She was a loving wife, grandmother, sister, friend, and a faithful longtime member of Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church. Marie loved her family and quilting with her friends (mainly for the social aspect). She was a social butterfly who never met a stranger, enjoyed baking pies and cakes for the people in her community, reading and getting books from the book mobile. She will be dearly missed.
She is preceded by her husband, J. M. Hite; parents, Duke and Myrtle Tedeton; granddaughter, Hannah Durkes; son-in-law, Ronnie Smith; and brother, Merle Tedeton.
Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Marie Ann Bearden and husband Buddy; son, Jimmie Hite and wife Kricket; son, Terry Hite and wife Debra; daughter, Mechelle Smith; brother, Richard Tedeton; sister, Mildred Jordan; grandchildren, Stacey Crenshaw, Angela Durkes, John Bearden, Jessica McCurdey, Amanda Wheelis, Teri Ann Herrington, Cody Smith, Allen Taylor, and Joseph Crow; multiple great, great great, and great great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
