Hazel Mae Harris

Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Mae Harris of West Monroe, LA will be 2:00pm Saturday, May 18, 2019 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home 911 Warren Dr. West Monroe with Sis. Linda Townsend and Major Glenn Riggs officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Harris was born July 4, 1930 in West Monroe, LA and passed from this life on May 14, 2019 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 88. She was a lifetime member of the Salvation Army and enjoyed doing volunteer work, especially counting the money from the red kettles at Christmastime. She held many titles of leadership including Sunday school teacher, Corps Cadet Leader and League of Mercy Secretary. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Julius Harris; her granddaughter, Brandi Adams; her great great-granddaughter, Alyson Rosales; and one brother, Howard Shaw.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Jeanette Haydell and husband, George of Coushatta, and Bo Harris and wife, Lynne of West Monroe; six grandchildren, Catherine Cannon, Timothy White and wife, April, Angela Sifuentes, Jason Haydell, David Harris and wife, Erica, and Brent Harris; also survived by ten great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Brent Harris, David Harris, Timothy White, Ben Sepulvado, Brad Sepulvado and Franklin Duffy.
