Obituary for Greg Wayne Brown

A celebration of life for Mr. Greg Wayne Brown of Calhoun, LA will be 2:00PM Wednesday, May 19, 2021 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until time of service at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at a later time.

Greg was born November 4, 1972 in West Monroe, LA and passed from this life on May 16, 2021 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 48. He was the owner and operator of Greg’s Body Art in Monroe, LA. He enjoyed watching his westerns, hunting, fishing, camping, poker, and playing his guitar. He also loved to cook and entertain and made him happy to watch people enjoying what he prepared. Greg was a kind, giving and loving man to his family and friends. He was the type of guy who would give someone the shirt off his back to help someone in need. Greg was very blunt, straight forward and never sugarcoated anything he said. He was always willing to give advice You could always come to him for advice and he would give you the best advice to his knowledge. He had a passion for tattooing and loved the artwork he could give someone. Greg was always being goofy and making everyone laugh especially when you were sad, or just to lighten the mood. Most of all, he was the best husband in the world, as well as father and stepfather. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gayle Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Shayla Brown of Calhoun; his children, Ashley Brown, Tyler Brown, Jared Brown, Seth Olson and Hannah Grace Olson; one brother, Chuck Brown and wife, Nicole of West Monroe; also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be R.L. Smith, Ron Causey, Michael Swallow, Ritchie Forte, David Garrett, Todd Richardson and Bubba Oetgen.
