Obituary for Glenn "Eddy" Foster

Glenn "Eddy" Foster
May 22,1955 - December 23,2020

It was a beautiful sunny day, on May 22,1955, in Shreveport, LA. A handsome man, named Adrian Foster and beautiful young woman, named Lucrieta Holley Foster, had a precious baby boy, named Glenn Foster. They nicknamed him Eddy. He was the youngest of three boys. Jimmy and Randy were the oldest. He was a tender, sweet, kind hearted kid. Eddy graduated from Spearsville High School and joined the Army. He served his country proudly until 1977. After leaving the Army, he went back home and spent his time helping the local farmers. He always had a helping hand to lend. Years later he began driving 18 wheelers. He spent a little time in Texas and North Carolina but Louisiana was home. He always said, "I spent part of my life trying to get out of Spearsville and the other part trying to get back".

On a hot muggy night in August 2004, Eddy and his brother Randy, went to a cabin in the woods, of Farmerville, top dance, listen to an old country band play, and kick back after a long day of fishing. Little did Eddy know, that going to that cabin, even while smelling like fish, would change his life forever. He met a beautiful lady, named Debbie, that stole his heart and future. A few months later, on June 4,2005, the two made a promise in front of God, family, and friends, to love and cherish each other, until death did them part.
Although, Eddy gained two daughters and four grand-daughters that night, those girls gained so much more than just a step-dad. They gained a daddy, pop, friend, and confidant. Over the next 15 years, time passed so quickly, they almost didn't have time to let the moments show their true importance. Many tears and laughs were shared on the porch, that will never be broken. That man did something for those seven girls, that they didn't even know they needed. He showed them love, friendship, compassion, understanding (most of the time) and always told it like it was.

In June 2020, Eddy was diagnosed with cancer. He endured months of chemo and radiation. Not one time did he complain or give up. On December 23,2020, God decided that decided that he had endured enough pain. He allowed his angels to bring Eddy home. He will forever rest in the presence of Jesus Christ with no more suffering and no more pain.

Eddy is preceeded in death by his father, Adrian "Cotton" Foster, mother, Lucreitta
Holley Foster, brother James "Jimmy" Foster.
