Obituary for Glenda Ann Hughes
Funeral service celebrating the life of Glenda Ann Hughes of West Monroe, LA. Will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, November 27, 2022, in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe, LA., with Rev. Kelvin R. Clark and Rev. Darren R. Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Beech Springs Cemetery, Quitman, under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
Family will receive friends for visitation 12:00pm until time of service at the funeral home.
Glenda was born March 24, 1946, and passed from this life November 23, 2022, at the age of 76.
Glenda retired as a school teacher after 33 years with the Monroe City School System and continued to substitute teach for another 15 years.
She enjoyed reading, traveling on mission trips and to church conventions and playing the piano to help several churches. She was a member for several years at both her nephew and great-nephew’s churches.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Helen Hughes.
Survivors include her Sister, Marie Hughes Clark and her husband Riley, Nephew, Kelvin R. Clark and his wife Lodema (Best Friend), Great-nephews, Darrell and Darren Clark, who were “her boys”; Niece, Connie Amsden and her husband Pat; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers include Darrell Clark, Logan Hampton, Dr. David Hibbets, Daniel Hibbets, DeWayne Hibbets, and Tommy Kountz.
