Obituary for Evelyn Doris Moore



Evelyn Doris Clark Moore was born in West Monroe, Louisiana on November 24, 1953. Evelyn spent much of her time in Arcadia, Louisiana visiting and caring for loved ones. She loved painting, spending time in the outdoors, and even more, she loved plants and animals. Evelyn had a green thumb for not only the plants she grew but for the people in her life. Evelyn was known for the love she showed to others and the sacrifices she made to help those she loved. She strived to teach others to embrace life and live life to each person’s full potential. Because of the love she poured out, Evelyn was surrounded by an army of independent, loving, and strong people who supported and cared for her.

Evelyn passed away on March 8, 2022, in her home with family by her side.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Elsie Wilks; brothers, William “Pee Wee” Knight, Billy Knight, Donnie Wilks and sisters Linda Knight Jiles, Bertha Glover, Margaret Knight, Betty Jane Stanfield.


She is survived by her ex-husband, Richard Moore; children, Chris Thompson, Betsy Moore, Korri Moore; grandchildren, Melvin Thompson, Christopher Thompson, Ashley Lively, Hailey Lairscey. She is also survived by her brothers, Jerry Wilks, Roy Knight and several cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

It was Evelyn’s wishes to be cremated and taken back to where she considered home. Visitation will be held at Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe, Louisiana on Sunday, March 13, 2022, from 6pm until 8pm.
