Obituary for Evan Davidson Hibbets

Funeral service for Evan Davidson Hibbets, 8, of Hattiesburg, MS. will be held at 10:00am, at Harvest Assembly of God Church in West Monroe. Interment will follow at Lapine Assembly Church Cemetery in West Monroe, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg. Another visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, November 7, 2019, at Harvest Church in West Monroe.

Evan Davidson Hibbets was born on December 10, 2010, in Hattiesburg, MS and was a light to all who met him. He peacefully fell asleep early in the morning of November 3, 2019. Evan’s name means, “God is gracious, beloved son,” a profound truth that echoes through the ages and is the promise of our future. We were blessed to enjoy 8 years full of good memories with Evan. Everyone who met him would comment on his contagious smile and his joyful laughter. He always found the small adventures in everyday life like waiting for the school bus or hearing another version of Happy Birthday sung just for him.

Evan is preceded in death by his brother, Joshua; grandmother, Patricia Roshto; great-grandparents, Walter Roshto, Edith Grover, Tony and Mavis Hughes Horton, Ivan and Vera Hibbets, Ruby Clark, Alvin and Townsen Stinson, and Matt and Margaret Roshto.

Evan is survived by his parents, David and Aleecia Hibbets; one sister, Jayden; one brother, Gabriel; Maternal grandfather, Gary Roshto and wife Beverly; Paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Teresa Hibbets; great-grandmother, Albertia Roshto; great-grandfather, Reggie Horton. Also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.
