Obituary for Ernest Edward Caples
A Memorial Service for Ernest E. Caples will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe, LA. Mr. Caples was born March 5, 1945 and passed away February 1, 2023 at the age of 77.
Mr. Caples served four years in the U.S. Navy. His biggest love was his family. He was proud of all his grandchildren and had his own special bond with each of them. He was a caretaker for many family members for many years. He loved to fish and have family fish fries. He always looked forward to Nascar Sundays with his grandsons. His great grandbabies were his pride and joy. They looked forward to digging in his snack basket when coming to visit.
The family would like to thank St. Francis ER staff. We are thankful you were on his care team at the end of his life. We are grateful for your care and compassion. The family would also like to thank Ellen Gentile, NP (Dad’s Angel) and her staff at Delta Family Care for all your care for the last several years. He truly adored each of you. We would also like to thank Stat Home Health for taking care of him the last couple of years.
Mr. Caples was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Versie Caples, Brother-Jimmy Caples, Sister-Carol Whittington, Children’s mother-Debra Whitten Caples.
Survivors include Valerie Steen-companion, Children: Tabitha Caples, Candie Rowton (Chad), Brandy Caples. Siblings: Shelia Bonnett (Coby), Ronnie Caples ( Jeannie), Terrie Hauerwas.
Grandchildren Joseph Dupree (Alexis), Jakob Rowton (Emily), Josie Abercrombie (Cameron), Austin Rowton, Great-grandchildren: Kinsleigh Dupree, Kaisen Dupree, Ryker Rowton, Tesslynn Rowton and a host of nieces and nephews.
