Obituary for Elsie Rose White

A memorial service for Elsie Rose White of West Monroe, LA will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 1, 2022 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe with Bro. Aleck Nyegaard officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time-of-service Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Elsie Rose Gonzalez Kieswetter White was the fifth child born to Robert Kieswetter and Maria Gonzalez on May 3, 1930, in Chiriqui, Panama. She and her sister attended school at a convent in Costa Rica. At the convent she received a strong religious education and foundation that lasted throughout her lifetime. Elsie later met and married the love of her life, Edward White. They met in Panama where he was stationed while serving in the Navy. Together they reared four children, John, Steve, Tim, and Marie. She loved her cats and enjoyed working in her garden; most of all she loved her sweets. Mrs. Elsie remained strong in her faith and always believed she would see Heaven where she would find peace where she could spend eternity eating boxes of her “Debbie cakes” with no one watching to judge her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward White; and her siblings, Olmedo Kieswetter, Emilio Kieswetter, and Roberto Kieswetter, Jr.

Survivors include her children, John White (Lynda), Steve White, Tim White (Hidi), and Marie Hannah (Robert); a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister Josephine Higgins along with numerous other family and friends.
