Ella Louise Dudley passed away from this life to her eternal home peacefully on August 14, 2020 at the age of 85. She was born April 28, 1935 to the union of Rev. JT and Helen Peoples in Dora, Alabama. She married in 1953 and shared a long beautiful life with her husband, Rev. John C. Dudley who preceded her in death in 2008. She was known as Sister Dudley by most and found the most joy in life by serving others as a Pastor’s Wife at West Monroe, LA Church of God for 42 years. Sister Dudley was the director of the Ladies Ministry, Willing Workers, Accounting and Children’s Church. She was well known for her outstanding cooking and baking skills, and only a select few actually know the secrets to her famous cheesecake. She was a talented musician and played the organ or piano every church service she attended. She loved her church family dearly and spent countless hours at the hospitals and nursing homes visiting and praying with those in need. To her family she was known as Mama. She could always make every holiday and occasion special and enjoyed any opportunity to set her table for Family. Her hands were rarely still. Her life was spent in constant motion doing for others. She was a loving caring ministers’ wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be truly missed.

She is survived by her two children; daughter Cathy Bedenbender, husband Philip, and son Jacky Dudley; brother Paul David Peoples; grandchildren Misti Chavis and husband Levi, Angel Ploch and husband Ryan, Kristen Bedenbender and fiancé Phill, Philip “PJ” Bedenbender and wife Kaitlin and Lindsay Dudley; great grandchildren Stephen, Catelyn, Cassidy and fiancé Kirk, Annabelle, Javon, Abigail, JaMarion, Kahlyn, Adam, Colt “Gunner”, Gage, King, Ella, Lilah and Ensley; great-great granddaughter Myla.
Pallbearers include Philip “PJ” Bedenbender, Stephen Kile, Jr., Chris Smith, Phil Walton, Frank Wolsey and Alan Shields. Honorary pallbearers are JaMarion Ross, Colt “Gunner” Davis and Kahlyn Davis.

I have such fond memories of The Dudleys having lunch with me, at The Southern Ladies Tearoom, years ago, in Antique Alley. I always felt honored by their presence. They are the sweetest couple that I will ever encounter. I cherish the memories, I have of them & they will forever be in my heart. My deepest sympathy and condolences to their family & church.

Psalms 116:15, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints". And what a precious lady this saint was. I am privileged to have had her in my life for the past 32 years. "Mama" you taught me alot, with your words, but more with your actions. Thank you for your love and prayers for me. It will be missed...it already is. Family...yes I say "family" because when i feel in love with your daddy and your mama I also feel in love with you all. Thank you for sharing your parents with me and allowing me to consider myself "the other daughter". Cathy and Jacky, you will make it...it will not be easy...but you will make it with God by your side. Praying for the entire Dudley family. Keep the upward look!......Sister Jennifer Clark
