In 1950, Bettye married Douglas “Dub” Vines.
They raised four children who are as follows:
Lugenia Vines Knox, Lynn Vines McMurray, Karen Albritton, and Thomas Vines.
Grandchildren: Clay Knox, Rebecca Housley, Robin Keenan, Todd Alexander, Shari Dallas Breithaupt, Ryan McMurray, Samuel Vines and Matthew Vines.
Great grandchildren: Janna Ayo, Jacob Knox, Katie Housley, Elle Housley, Emily Breithaupt, Aaron Alexander, Ace Alexander, and Megan Keenan
