Obituary for Dorothy Nell Wooley
Funeral service for Dorothy Nell Wooley of West Monroe, LA will be 12:00pm Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe with Bro. Danny Mcllveene officiating. Interment will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery West Monroe, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00am until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born January 30, 1933 in Point, LA and passed from this earth on February 23, 2020 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 87. She loved gardening and fishing, spending time with her family, and most of all, reading God’s word. Dorothy was a member of Community Baptist Church for over 20 years.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 plus years, Luther J. Wooley; her parents, Ford and Docia Bayles; brother, Henry Bayles and sister, Geraldine Young.
Those left to cherish her wonderful memories include her sons, Ricky Wooley and Larry Wooley and wife Susie; two sisters, Shirley Godwin and husband Laymon and Lula Mae Day; 5 grandsons, Dustin, Christopher, Brett, Ryan and Kyle Wooley; eight great-grandchildren; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Wooley, Brett Wooley, Ryan Wooley, Kyle Wooley, Christopher Wooley, and Landon Wooley. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Johnston, and Kirk Cannon.
